Join us for an evening with David K. McDonnell
Wednesday, April 24th 5:30pm - 7:00pm
David McDonnell is an American author and story teller, with a passion for Irish and Irish-American history and folklore. He's traveled throughout the U.S. and Ireland sharing his stories. His stories include factual and historical accounts, old Irish tales, Celtic legends, and plain old yarns. ClanDonnell: A Storied History of Ireland, David's first book, won three national literary awards and received universally positive book reviews. ClanDonnell is a collection of true stories of an Irish clan which tell the history of Ireland in an entertaining, easy-to-read fashion. The tone is that of an oral history. The human stories, numerous illustrations, and humor bring the history of Ireland to life for the non-historian reader. David spent most of his life in and around Detroit and received his bachelor's and doctorate degrees from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He now lives in northern Michigan and enjoys the sunset over Lake Michigan almost every night.
